Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews
School Reports will be sent home on Friday, 28th June and will contain lots of great information about the wonderful work your children are doing in classrooms. Please take the opportunity to attend a parent /teacher interview in Week 10. It is a great way to get to know the teacher and to find out how you can help your child at home and support their learning, there will be interpreters available to assist on Tuesday, 2nd July from 3pm to 7pm. Notes for you to select interview times went out last week. If you did not get one, please ask for another one from the class teacher.
K-6 Assembly
What a fabulous time we had at our recent K-6 Assembly in recognition of National Reconciliation Week.
Many thanks to the classes who performed - 5/6H, 5/6M, 1/2P and 1/2D. We also gave out some very special awards at the assembly.
Principal Award – H. Fatima KS
Deputy Principal Awards – A. Hariz 1/2J and R. Diallo 3/4Z
Assistant Principal Awards – A. Mahamid KE, M. Fatima Mohammed 1/2S,
Shahina. Mohiddun 3/4A, M. Waqar 5/6M and M. Noumair K/6X
We also sang Taba Naba as a school how fantastic it was to hear our whole school community singing together!
Thank you to all the parents who attended this wonderful assembly, and we look forward to seeing you at our next event.
Athletics Carnival
Unfortunately, due to wet weather both our Athletics Carnivals had to be cancelled recently. They have both been reorganised for early Term 3 and further information will be out shortly. Let’s keep our fingers crossed we have better weather next time!
School Security
Please be aware that throughout the day all gates are locked. We have installed an electronic gate on both sides of the road for entry. Press the button and one of our office staff will open the gate for you. Please ensure that the gate is closed and locked before proceeding to the office for the safety of all our students.
To ensure maximum use of resources for all students, regardless of the site of the home base classroom for the student is located, movement between the two sites will occur on a regular basis.
No student at any time will move between the two sites without supervision from a staff member.
Students will move between the two sites for school activities such as; technology, library, assemblies, sport, performances, fun days, various curriculum activities.
Uniform Shop
Our uniform shop is open on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 8:30am-9:30am for the purchase of school uniforms.
School Hats
Students are being encouraged to wear the school hat. Please do not encourage your child to wear any other hat to school other than the school hat.
School hats are available at the school office.
Thank you for your co-operation on this important matter.
Absence due to a long overseas holiday.
Please be aware that taking your child overseas for an extended period, that is more than 3 weeks, does affect their learning.
Your child is missing valuable learning. If you choose to do this, be aware that teachers will be reviewing your child’s progress at the end of the year and if necessary, will be recommending your child repeat that year again. If children miss too much school, they need to be given the opportunity to catch up and this may mean repeating the school academic year.
My advice to all parents is trying to keep trips back to family in other countries to our school holiday periods throughout the year. Then your child will have every opportunity provided to them at Auburn to learn and make academic progress.
If you are taking your child out of school for an extended period it is essential, you come to the office on the 3 – 6 site and complete the appropriate paperwork.

Staying Well, Staying Safe with Water bottles
Metal water bottles can be a safety hazard in the playground if one is accidently dropped onto toes but staying hydrated is important to keep our brain in top condition for all the playing and learning, too. Please bring plastic water bottles to school to ensure the safety of our students.

Parents please be aware of the road rules around school for the safety of our students and whole school community. We have had a number of parents disobeying these road rules. The Council has been seen around the school fining people for not following these rules. These fines are the responsibility of the parents and not the school. For the safety of everyone please BE AWARE, BE SAFE and SLOW DOWN! The speed limit around schools is 40.
